These fuels are nonrenewable because they are limited substances which cannot be produced at the same rate at which it is used. Also, they cannot be REused, hence the wording non-REnewable. Hope this answers your question.

They are fossil fuels. Fossil fuels take millions of years to produce since they are the remains of decayed organisms that have decomposed under extreme pressures and temperatures to become a part of the earth's crust. Since we burn fossil fuels (ie gas, oil, coal) and they are used up quickly we use more than we produce therefore eventually if we carry on at the same rate we will run out of this resource. Therefore they are non-renewable.
