If the habitat of the two moths does not change, which moth is most likely to survive and why? Imagine a change in the habitat. The black species of peppered moths which previously stood out against the white tree bark will now blend in because of the layer of soot covering the trees, causing their numbers to rise. Furthermore the white moths which used to blend in will now be chosen against and their populations will fall.
