The supreme court does not write briefs to explain its decisions, instead, a brief is written with an intention of persuading a higher ranking court to reconsider the decisions of a lower ranking court.
The brief is written by a party involved and affected by the decision, seeking for another hearing from a higher court.
Because of this, supreme court cases are biased in nature since only one party presents its view on the ruling.
