Hard to know where the jobs will be twenty years into the future.
It is a global economy.
Takes longer to be an adult
Young adults live at home longer
Companies no longer provide a career-long job
Companies no longer provide a retirement
Even the military has moved to 401K retirements
Service or product or a product that also gives service
Some medical procedures are over the internet.
Other services like wiping somebody’s behind cannot be.
You can see a doctor or lawyer on the internet.
Companies have global meetings.
Unclogging the toilet cannot be moved oversees.
We have robotics, automation, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
All the words on the last line are actually synonyms,
Robotics is automation and artificial intelligence.
That technology adapted to flesh and blood is called biotechnology.
Uber is on the verge of self-driving cars.
All young people can do is weigh their options.
Make a list of what the experts say will be the future jobs.
Do I want to work in an automated McDonalds?
Do I want to spend years and years being educated and then re-educated?
Will I be able to remain in my own country and culture?
I made a list of the 30 most likely jobs in the near future.
I crossed out poor paying, too much school, and too much physical labor jobs
That only left two options: the dental hygienist and biotechnology.
I can clean teeth or design robotic body parts.
Although this speech may not be definitive research, it is an eye-opener.
Job projections are only seven years into the future.
Nobody has any real idea of how the current technology jobs will evolve.
Those unprepared will bounce from job to job and suffer greatly.
The rest of the people will try to stay ahead of the job market curve.
As said earlier, dental hygienist and biotech look like good futuristic jobs.
