So first we need to know that to find the area in centimeter you need to use the formula A=a². So we already know that the length of each side of the square is 12 cm and a square has 4 sides, so 12/4=3, then, as we know the formula is A=a², or just length times length, so 3*3, or 3²=9, so your answer is a square that has the perimeter of 12 cm has an area of 9 cm.
