Disadvantages:
In 1524 he started his third and final voyage, when king John III appointed him as a Portuguese ruler of India. Da Gama arrived in Goa with the task of fighting the growing corruption that had tainted the Portuguese government in India. He soon fell ill, and in December 1524 he died in Cochin. His body was later taken back to Portugal for burial.
On his first voyage he went with 174 men and came back with 54 men
