Immunizations trick the body into believing it is under attack by an infectious agent so the body's immune system then starts to create it own defense system against the bad agent. Therefore if we are exposed to the disease for real the body already has a defense system in place to combat it. Our body has created an immunity to the disease.
Immunization prevents diseases that can be dangerous, or even deadly. Vaccines greatly reduce the risk of infection by working with the body's natural defenses to safely develop immunity to disease.
