Johnson buys a package of three oranges for $2 and sells a package of two oranges for $3. If joshua wants to make a profit of $50,how many oranges does he need to sell?

Answer :

he buys a pack of 3 oranges for $2....2/3 = 0.67...thats 67 cents per orange
he sells a pack of 2 oranges for $3....3/2 = 1.50...thats 1.50 per orange

so if he buys it for 0.67 and sells it for 1.50....1.50 - 0.67 = 0.83....he makes a profit of 0.83 cents per orange

0.83x = 50
x = 50/0.83
x = 60.24....he would have to sell 61 <==

check...
0.83(61) = 50.63
and u see, if he sold 60....0.83(60) = 49.80...he wouldn't quite make the profit of 50.
