One way in which we change statements into questions is by adding do or does for
questions in the simple present tense and did for questions in the simple past tense.

Read the examples. Also notice the change in the verb.

My brother enjoys reading adventure books. (statement)
Does my brother enjoy reading adventure books? (question)

Smita writes to her grandfather every month.
(statement)
Does Smita write to her grandfather every month?
(question)

You played with Bruno this evening. (statement)
Did you play with Bruno this evening? (question)

Pragya went to Australia last year. (statement)
Did Pragya go to Australia last year? (question)
