The daughter of a New Orleans millionaire was kidnapped in the early 1920's and the father received a note threatening her extinction unless a ransom was paid immediately. The kidnapper demanded $7,000 in $500 bills ($500 bills were first printed in 1918). The note came with a 14 inch - square box that included explicit instructions to use the item inside the box to deliver the money. It was done, and the girl was returned unharmed.
