What is behind the door he opens? Is it the lady or is it the tiger? He trusted his
lover, the princess, to keep him safe. Did she?
It is up to the reader whether the man lives or not. The princess hates the girl behind the door but she cared enough to find out what was behind each door. She wouldn't want to see her lover with another woman but she doesn't want to see him killed.
