In November of 1923, Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party led a coalition group in an attempt to take over the German government. The plotters hoped to stop in Berlin to launch a national revolution. But they weren't successful. Units of the Munich police force clashed with Nazis as they marched into the city center. The Munich police killed many of Hitler's supporters. The attempted coup d'état came to be known as the Beer Hall Putsch. In the aftermath of this event, Hitler found a 'legal path' to the revolution: voting. Hope this helped!
