The slope of the tangent line to the curve y = 2 \sqrt { x } at the point ( 6 , 4.8990 ) is

Answer :

take derititive

2√x=[tex]2x^ \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
the deritive of that is [tex] \frac{2}{2}x^ \frac{-1}{2}= \frac{1}{ \sqrt{x} } [/tex]

(6,4.8990)
x=6
[tex] \frac{1}{ \sqrt{6} } = \frac{ \sqrt{6} }{6} [/tex] or aprox 0.4082

the slope is  [tex]  \frac{ \sqrt{6} }{6} [/tex] or aprox 0.4082
