The system clock generates regular electronic pulses that set the operating pace of the system unit, every computer contains a clock of the system, this clock is driven by a quartz crystal that at the moment of applying electricity the molecules in the crystal vibrate many times every second. The vibrations are used by the computer to measure its processing operations.
