Embargo- it is a word derived from the Spanish embargo, meaning an obstruction or hindrance. It is used generally to mean a ban on trade. The significance of embargos is that they can have far reaching economic implications on the country or region on which they are imposed. There can be loss of jobs, lowered standard of living and resentment can build up against the government of that country or against the one imposing the embargo and cause uprisings.
Nationalism - the belief that your own country is better than all others, that it is superior without question or doubt. The significance of nationalism is that in some cases, it can lead to an unhealthy pride causing a country to cut off itself from the rest of the world. But it can also inspire people to break free of a foreign oppressor e.g. as in the American revolution when America broke free from Britain.
