The steam engine was the advancement in pumping out water from mines, but with James Watts improvements to it, the steam engine could now work more efficiently and faster than how it was before it was improved. It was important because with out that invention and it's improvement there wouldn't be a popular of transportation of goods and it would've taken longer to transport something from one side of the country to another. It helped Agricultural Revolution by helping farmers and seamstresses spread out their products and produce around the country to sell.
The steam engine allowed faster transport of farm produce and manufactured goods.
